Estimated yards per pound can give you an idea of how much yards per
ounce. Just do a wee bit of math … (Keep in mind these are for
PREPARED fiber, not raw …)

2600+ yds/Lb ~ 162+ yards/ounce - lace weight (18 wpi)
1900- 2400 yds/Lb ~ 119-150 yards/ounce - fingering weight (16 wpi)
1200- 1800 yds/Lb ~ 75-112 yards/ounce - sport weight (14 wpi)
900 - 1200 yds/Lb ~ 56-75 yards/ounce - worsted weight (12 wpi)
600- 800 yds/Lb ~ 35-50 yards/ounce - bulky weight (10 wpi)
400- 500 yds/Lb ~ 25-31 yards/ounce - very bulky (8 wpi)

Remember, these are ESTIMATES. Your yardage will vary according to the
fiber you use and how dense/fluffy your yarn is.
